Due to language, cultural and social barriers, Arab immigrant & refugee families often experience isolation in the greater community.
One of our highest goals and greatest privileges is linking the local Arab immigrant & refugee community in relationships with the local Non-Arab community of Greater Toledo. These relationships foster goodwill, break stereotypes. bring greater awareness to all participants and practical help for our clients and their families. Through this effort, many participants have become active SSFAC volunteers helping families with their own expertise and talents!
SSFAC regularly hosts events that bring the local Arab & Non-Arab Community together. Beyondgood food and fun, these events are highly impactful to everyone and everybody comes away a little different and blessed.
In the last year we have hosted the following events: Thanksgiving Together, Coffee Together, Lamb Barbeque and The SSFAC Community Partnership Celebration.
SSFAC has recently partnered with Without Borders Community to host community dinners and help with community relations with SSFAC clients.
